Tony Pulis Pulis to be appointed West Brom boss

Tony Pulis guided Crystal Palace to Premier League safety last season before leaving that role in August Tony Pulis is set to be named West Brom head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal to succeed the sacked Alan Irvine. The 56-year-old former Stoke and Crystal Palace manager is likely to be confirmed in the position on Thursday. It is hoped he will be in the stands at Upton Park for West Brom's New Year's Day Premier League visit to West Ham. There are still some details to be decided, but the deal to make Pulis the club's fourth head coach in a year is expected to proceed without a problem. The Welshman will meet with Peace for the first time on Thursday, and will bring in Dave Kemp - part of his coaching team at Palace and Stoke - as his assistant, but decisions are still to be made on the rest of the coaching staff. All negotiations so far have been handled by Pulis's lawyer and his agent, who are both trusted long-term representatives. Albion are 16th in the Premier League, a point above the relegation zone, following Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Stoke. Irvine was placed on gardening leave on Tuesday after winning just four of his 19 league games in charge.

EFCC Accuses Man Of Swallowing $115,000 At The Airport

One Onwuasonya Augustine was charged to court on Tuesday by the EFCC for allegedly swallowing $115,000 to avoid declaring it to officials of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. He was arraigned along with five other alleged accomplices, Christian Okoli, Kingsley Nwokenta, aka Buchito, Nwokenta Emmanuel, Ezenwa Ikenna and Ezenwa Uzoma for the offence of money laundering The six were charged with four counts before Justice C.J. Aneke of a Federal High Court in Lagos. The agency alleged that Onwuasonya and the 5 others committed the offence on August 25, 2015, and were apprehended at Room 303 of a five-star hotel in Lagos. The sixth accused, Uzoma, was singularly charged with the offence of obstructing an NDLEA official, Bello Tsanya, in the discharge of his duty. CBN extends BVN registration

Following pleas from Nigerians, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has decided to extend the deadline for the registration for Bank Verification Number (BVN) by another four months. Bank customers who are yet to register now have till October 30 to do so, reports Daily Post. The extension followed the uncontrolled crowd at the different branches of Nigerian banks that has made business transactions almost impossible. The apex bank in a circular to the banks directed them to extend the timeline to their customers to enable them have the BVN. The extension would also give Nigerian bank customers in the Diaspora ample time to register.
